It’s not often you fire 58 shots on goal and come away with a loss.
But it happened to the Wellington Dukes after a 10 player shootout in their home opener last night.
The Dukes went back and forth with the Cobourg Cougars… but couldn’t hold on… dropping a 6-5 shootout decision.
Five different Dukes foud the scoresheet in regulation… and two scored in the shootout.
Wellington’s Cam Yuill hit the post on the Duke’s 9th shootout attempt… before Lawton McCracken converted on try number 10 to give Cobourg the win.
It’s a long bus ride for the Dukes today… as they look to improve on their 1 and 1 record in Hamilton at 1pm.
