Mediation has been ruled out as a way of settling the latest dispute over handling ward boundaries in Prince Edward County.
The Electors of Prince Edward asked the Ontario Municipal board earlier this month to order the board hearing in November deal only with the location where the ward boundaries will be divided, re-divided or dissolved, not whether that will actually take place.
The O-M-B Vice Chair contacted the County’s lawyer and an Electors Agent about the potential for mediation, but decided that would be premature at this time.
All three parties were involved in a telephone conference call last Friday, and the O-M-B decided a board meeting will be held tomorrow morning at Shire Hall in Picton to hear submissions about the Electors’ motion.
