Belleville has passed the bylaw that will allow the Joint Archives Facility to become a reality. Earlier this year the city bought the former Irish Hall on Church Street. This will be jointly shared with Hastings County and the Historical Society. City administrator Steve Hyndman told City Council last night that a professional archivist will be hired, and will be an employee of the city since Belleville is “in the cultural business already with it’s library. “
