It’s the first day of school at Loyalist College and officials say enrollment is up by about 7-percent to more than 3000 students. Vice President of Student Services George Burton says first year enrollment is up by about 15-percent…and, he believes there are a couple of reasons for that…..the college’s excellent reputation and the fact many laid off workers are headed back to school for retraining. On the construction front….Burton says the Sports Dome is expected to arrive in the next two weeks and will be ready for use in early October. and, the Skills Centre Project is awaiting presentations from the four bidders short-listed to construct the facility.
