Nearly 12-million dollars worth of marijuana has been seized in North Hastings, Sharbot Lake and Scarborough in another phase of Project Industrious.
The joint forces operation culminated yesterday with the arrest of eight people. The vast majority of the drugs were seized at three outdoor locations near Bancroft, and some drugs and evidence were found in the Sharbot Lake area, another site near Bancroft, and two indoor locations in Scarborough. The OPP and Belleville Police held a joint press conference this morning at the Thurlow Community Centre to announce the seizure of the 11,700 plants. Project Industrious officers seized 10-million dollars worth of marijuana in six drug busts in June, at indoor operations in Belleville and others in Brighton and Kingston.
