It appears the Quinte-area and Central Hastings escaped any major damage from the massive thunderstorms that ripped across the region. Hydro wires are down across the area….and Hydro One reports almost 13-thousand customers in an area stretching from Picton to Bancroft and from Trenton to Kingston are without electricity. Power may not be restored to some customers until late tonight. While lightning flashed, winds howled and rain poured there were no serious incidents reported. The CFB Trenton Weather office reports 13mm of rain fell during the storm…although higher amounts were reported north of Belleville and Trenton…..the top temp reached 29.3 late yesterday….short of the record 31.7 on August 20th in 1955 and ’59.
