Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis says it was good to hear Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty comment on the uploading of services during this week’s conference of the Association of Municipalities.
But Mayor Ellis says municipalities have to be watchful that this doesn’t include some further downloading at the same time. The province has promised to pay for welfare and court security costs by 2017. Court security alone costs Belleville 600-thousand dollars annually.
