Brighton council may not take as strong a stand on representation on the new Quinte Health Care board as three other local municipalities.
Belleville, Quinte West and Prince Edward County want mayors included on the board, even though the Q-H-C community advisory council says that won’t happen.
Mayor Chris Herrington says Brighton’s committee of the whole decided the issue would be discussed again when council meets on August 24th, and there will be calls for a voice at Quinte Health Care, even if it doesn’t insist on the Mayor being on the board.
She says Brighton wants a very firm process put in place for the community to have input and involvement in the governance of Quinte Health Care, particularly at the Trenton Hospital.
