Two aircraft from C-F-B Trenton are looking for the source of four flares fired over Georgian Bay.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre at the base was contacted late last night after two flares, followed by two more just a few minutes later, were spotted near the Western Islands, west of Parry Sound.
A C-130 Hercules airplane and a Griffin helicopter from Trenton’s 4-2-4 squadron and a Canadian Coast Guard Vessel have been checking around the islands since arriving early this morning, but so far nothing has been found.
