Belleville City Council may make it easier for visually and hearing impaired residents to use the city transit system.
Council will consider a recommendation today from Transit Advisory Committee to set aside 150-thousand dollars of provincial gas tax funds.
It will be used to buy an automated audible and visual stop announcement system for each of the fleet’s 14 buses.
Council will also discuss acquiring two parcels of land in Thurlow ward. The meeting starts at City Hall at four o’clock this afternoon.
