The O-P-P’s introduction last year of a 50-thousand-dollar reward to try to solve a 1984 murder northeast of Napanee hasn’t exactly had the desired results.
Police announced last summer the money would be paid for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible.
The remains of a young woman, who police believe could have been killed one to eight months earlier, were discovered along a gravel road south of Newburgh in December, 1984, but she has never been identified.
Napanee O-P-P say there been only a few tips, but none recently, and the case remains open.
