Belleville Police are asking for the public’s help in finding two men who escaped lawful custody by jumping from a moving car.
Belleville Police officers say around 1:50 a.m. they saw a car run a red light on North Front Street at College Street.
They communicated that the driver should pull over, which he did. Then, without stopping the car, the driver and his passenger got out and ran away. The car came to rest in a nearby hedge.
Upon investigation, police found the car had been reported stolen from a Deseronto home the day before.
Both men are described as white, about five-feet-nine-inches tall with a slim build and brown hair. Both were wearing blue jeans, hooded sweatshirts and ball caps.
Police would like to hear from anyone with information.
