The extensive air and ground search for a missing Napanee man on a mountain in New Hampshire has been called off.
State officials cancelled the search for 70-year-old Peter Shintani, saying no clues of his whereabouts were found during three days of searching this week in rugged terrain.
He left Napanee to hike around Mount Washington on June ninth, and planned to return home the next day, but wasn’t reported missing until earlier this week. .
New Hampshire officials have no word on his intended route, and aren’t even sure he attempted the walk.
