Fire destroyed a large garage north of Tweed this afternoon. 12 firefighters from the Tweed department managed to keep the fire from spreading to a house and a couple of sheds nearby.
Chief Don Barnett says there was over 100 thousand dollars damage, as the garage contained tractors, a loader, and a lot of tools. The cause is undetermined. The fire occurred along highway 7, just east of 37.
