Stirling-Rawdon Township has bought the former home of the Community Press newspaper near Stirling.
Mayor Peter Kooistra says the building will be used as the new municipal office, with staff and council members moving in within the next year, after some renovations are made.
The township is tied into a lease for the current municipal office until August, 2010, but workers and council will transfer to the new location before then if a new tenant is found.
Kooistra says the current building is too small, and doesn’t have enough room for the public to attend council meetings.
