It looks as though within 2 or 3 years, kids attending St. Peters Catholic School in Trenton will no longer be playing on an asphalt schoolyard. MPP Lou Rinald announced 5 and a half million dollars today (yesterday) to build a brand new St. Peters school. The location han’t been decided, but it’s likely it will be built south of St Paul’s Catholic Secondary in Trenton. Meanwhile, MPP Rinaldi also announced 1.9 million dollars for an expansion at St. Paul’s. That, according to the Algonquin Lakeshore Board’s Director of Plant, Doug Campbell, will make room for grade 7 and 8 students, and other facilities. Now, various groups in the Catholic community will decide on the building’s design, before putting the projects to tender.
