The design work continues in Prince Edward County in advance of the application for federal-provincial funding for the new Wellington Community Centre.
Two committees met last week to firm up plans for the building, which will have an N-H-L size ice surface, 950 seats, and another 390 seats in the community hall.
Community Centre replacement fundraising committee chairperson Jim Dunlop says Task Force Engineering is fine-tuning the design of the building, which is expected to cost ten-million dollars.
He says the application to the Building Canada Fund, which will pay for two-thirds of the construction cost, will be finalized before the this friday’s submission deadline..
