Flu Clinic

Tweed Flu Clinics will be held at Gateway Community Health Centre, 41 McClellan Street on Friday, October 20th from 9:00am to 4:00pm; Wednesday, November 1st from 5:00pm to 8:00pm; and Friday, November 17th from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The clinics are open to everyone - no appointment is needed.

A Flu Clinic will also be held at St. Matthew's Hall, Marlbank, on Tuesday, November 21st from 4:00pm to 7:00pm

Memoir Writing Workshop

If you’ve ever wanted to write your memoir but didn’t know where to begin, the Belleville Public Library will be sponsoring a Writing Your Life Story workshop on Thursday mornings in November. In this five-part workshop you will enrich your stories by exploring and applying key elements of good writing: structure, use of dialogue, description and detail. The Library is providing two FREE Genealogy 101 workshops this fall! Come and find out how the Library can assist genealogists in compiling their family history and pick up helpful hints and tips. Steve Burrows Author Visit

Mystery author Steve Burrows will be coming to the Belleville Public Library on Sat. Nov. 4 at 11:00 am. Mr. Burrows is the author of the Birder Murder Mysteries series, which includes such titles as A Siege of Bitterns, A Pitying of Doves, A Cast of Falcons and a Shimmering of Doves. His books feature inspector Domenic Jejeune, who solves crimes in Norfolk, England. Mr. Burrows will be giving a book talk, selling, and signing books. This year, on Sunday November 5th, we are hosting our annual Christmas Extravaganza Sale, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, at the Napanee Lion’s Hall, 57 County Road #8 (Centre Street South), Napanee. Admission to this event is $2.00 or a non-perishable food item of equal value. The Christmas for Seniors Program in Belleville encourages members of the community to purchase gifts for seniors in need. The program will help stimulate social interaction for older adults who are isolated and alone during the holidays.

Parade warmup

A fun way to warm up during the Santa Clause parade. The church doors will be open to the public during the parade as a place to warm up. Hot dogs, hot chocolate and popcorn are available for a donation. Donations collected will go towards building a house for a needy family in the Dominican Republic.

Beethoven V · An Organ Duo Concert

Duo Pergulæ (Francine & Matthieu Latreille) will give a second concert to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the installation of St. Thomas’ Gabriel Kney organ on Sunday afternoon, November 19th. It will be an organ duet concert featuring the Ontarian premiere of a transcription of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. Matthieu wrote the transcription with St. Thomas' organ in mind. The instrument is one of the finest pipe organs of the Quinte area. It was built to replace the large Casavant organ that had been destroyed with the church by fire in 1975. The 19 ranks instrument (about 1,000 pipes) has 14 stops and its action is entirely mechanical.

The concert will start at 4:30 PM. A reception will follow during which light refreshments will be served.

If you’ve ever wanted to write your memoir but didn’t know where to begin, the Belleville Public Library will be sponsoring a Writing Your Life Story workshop on Thursday mornings in November.
