Fitness for Breath is a respiratory maintenance program designed to help individuals who have a chronic lung disease such as COPD, pulmonary fibrosis or chronic asthma, achieve and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. This program does not replace pulmonary rehab.

In partnership with Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association (OARA), Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) and Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS), participating collector locations across Ontario will be hosting Tire Take Back collection event (in its seventh year), where fees from all of the tires returned during business hours will be donated to The Sunshine Foundation of Canada!

Violet's The Pilot

Tyendinaga Township Public Library is proud to host the Thousand Islands Playhouse 2016 Young Company Touring Show in their production of "Violet's the Pilot" Friday, June 3rd at 6:30 p.m. at the Tyendinaga Township Rec. Centre, 363 MacFarlane Rd. in Melrose. A fun-filled iinteractive play for children of all ages. Admission is free but donations to the library are always welcome. Snacks available at the canteen. "The Chain", a Trenton High School Musical.

Trenton High School is putting on an original musical production created by their Music Theatre students! This year's production is titled "The Chain" and features the music of legendary band Fleetwood Mac. "The Chain" portrays the effect that personal struggles alongside a life altering illness take through four generations of women. The play depicts the impact that the time period has on the situation, taking place throughout the 1900's.

The production will be showcased at Trenton High School on May 27th, 28th, June 3rd, and 4th at 7pm. Tickets are $10.00 and are sold in the main office of the school during regular school hours. The event is Free Admission, and great for all ages, we are going to be having Face Painting, Fish Pond, Bean Bag Toss and more activities for children all free of charge. We are also going to be holding a Silent Auction which we are going around to local businesses to see about Donations and all proceeds from the silent auction is going to Adam's Hope. We also have Olaf from Frozen making an appearance at the show at 1pm and will be charging a small fee for people to have photos taken with him and those proceeds are also going to Adam's Hope.

Art activities provide an excellent way for participants to express themselves, share ideas, improve communication skills, resolve issues, manage feelings, as well as reduce stress and improve self-esteem and awareness. Shout Sister Choir fundraiser to benefit Open Door Cafe

Belleville’s “Shout Sister!” choir is making a “joyful noise” for Open Door Café. Louise Ford directs as the choir continues Shout Sister’s tradition of giving back to the community. We dedicate our annual fundraiser to helping our communities. We are also found throughout the year performing at other fundraisers and at senior’s homes.

The Open Door Café is a weekly prepared meals program, open Wednesdays from 11:30 to 1:00. It offers hot lunches for those who may have trouble making ends meet or for seniors or others who would like to have someone with whom to share a meal. There is no cost. Donations are gratefully accepted. All are welcome!

This is an all-ages show. Bring the whole family!

June/July Exhibitions @ John M. Parrott Art Gallery

There are two new show opening at the John M. Parrott Art Gallery. In Gallery 1 enjoy a preview of the annual Labour Day Art Tour by the Rednersville Road Art Tour group. 8 Air Maintenance Squadron is proud to support Camp Trillium and will be hosting the 22nd annual Camp Trillium Charity Golf Tournament on the 10th of June 2016.

Camp Trillium offers recreational activities to children with cancer bringing their families together in an environment that normalizes relationships. Because of the generous ongoing support from local business, this event has raised over $ 121,000 since 1993.

The golf tournament will be a 0900 shotgun start held at the Roundel Glen Golf Course with a steak lunch at 1330. The tournament fee of $ 100.00 includes green fee, golf cart and steak lunch with vegetarian meals available upon request. There are numerous game day prizes including closest to the pin and longest drive competition. Teeing Up Fore Health Care golf classic

On Tuesday, June 14, 2016 RE/MAX Quinte Ltd. and the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation will join forces to host the second annual Teeing Up Fore Health Care Golf Classic at the Picton Golf and Country Club in support of priority medical equipment purchases at our County hospital.

Registration on June 14 will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a barbecue lunch donated by Sobey’s served at 11:30 a.m. Golfers will then hit the links for the 1:00 p.m. shotgun start to enjoy 18 holes on the well-manicured, picturesque course in Picton. A steak dinner, catered by the Golf Club Grill, will commence after the last cart returns to the clubhouse with presentations to follow. Entry into the tournament, which includes the meals, golf, power cart and a takeaway gift, will cost $150 per golfer.

Panera Bread Fundraising Night for Free The Children

Belleville’s own Miss Teenage South Central Ontario, Isabella Rapino, is fundraising for a charity called Free The Children throughout her journey to July’s Miss Teenage Canada pageant. This notable organization works to relieve the poverty in developing areas, such as Kenya and Ecuador, through community growth initiatives, such as building schools.

Belleville’s Panera Bread is hosting a fundraiser for Free The Children on June 23rd between 4 and 8pm. A portion of a purchase will be donated to Free The Children, however only if a specific flyer is shown at the time of ordering. The flyer can be shown electronically or in print. Kick off the Quinte International Air Show 2016 fever on Thursday, June 23rd with a screening of The Captains of the Clouds at the Centre Theatre in downtown Trenton.

This is a 1942 war movie based on Canadian pilots who attempt to enlist in the RCAF only to be told they are too old for combat. They agree to become flight instructors for the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan.

The films ends with an epilogue chronicling the contributions of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) to the making of the film.

There will be two movie times on Thursday, June 23: 4:30 PM & 8:30 PM

Representatives from 8 Wing and the Trenton MFRC will say a few words prior to the film.

Admission by donation only and all donations support military families through the Trenton MFRC!

The County Pull/Armdrop Drag Racing

The County Pull and Arm Drop Drag Racing event this year is on June 25th at the Picton Airfield/Loch-Sloy Business Park located at 343 County Rd 22 in Picton.

There are antique and farm stock tractor pulls, truck pulls, and classic and modified vehicle drags and show. $5 for spectators, $20 for racers.

Fitness for Breath is a respiratory maintenance program designed to help individuals who have a chronic lung disease such as COPD, pulmonary fibrosis or chronic asthma, achieve and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. This program does not replace pulmonary rehab.
