Quinte Access Transportation Open House

Please join us in celebrating 25 years of service in our community!

On Thursday July 10 we will be hosting an Open House and everyone is welcome to attend. On the banks of the Trent River at 97 Front Street, we will serve up a barbecue starting at 11:30am, followed by a presentation and cake cutting at 12:30pm.

Quinte Access became a reality with the donation of its first accessible vehicle 25 years ago, and we have continually grown since. We now have a fleet of 13 vehicles, providing both a specialized door-to-door service for qualified individuals and a public transit service available in Trenton ward.

Some businesses will be raising funds by hosting draws or applying a percentage of sales to go toward their chosen charity, Others will be applying discounts, accepting donations and silent auctions.

Numerous local charities will benefit from this event including, Three Oaks Foundation, Quinte Humane Society, MADD and Gleaners Food Bank and many more.

An e-board is on display at Sweet Escape where people are able to view the businesses participating in the event and see what charity each business has decided to raise funds for.

The 15th Annual Town and Country Garden Tour is hosted by the Canadian Federation of University Women. The event takes place (rain or shine) on Saturday, July 12 from 10 - 4pm. Sun Life Super Soaker 3K Challenge supporting Heart and Stroke Foundation

The Krown Wash For A Wish Car Wash

On July 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Krown Rust Control, Canada's number one rust protection company, will attempt to break the world record for the most vehicles washed by an organization in one day at the Krown Wash for a Wish Car Wash. For $10, Canadians will receive a hand car wash at any participating Krown Rust Control location across the country and 100 per cent of money raised will be donated to regional chapters of The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.

Legion Cavalier Motorcycle Poker Run & Show & Shine

Tweed Legion "Cavalier" Motorcycle Poker Run & Show and shine is being held on July 20. Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the Run at 11. A light breakfast will be available for registrants. Our BBQ will start at 12 and the afternoon Show and shine will feature the Charlie Bird Band at out Parking Lot Party. There will be vendors, draws and prizes and all proceeds will go to the local Cadet Corps and Legion Community Events.

Motorcycle Registration for the Run and/or Show and Shine is $15 or $25 for both. There is no admission fee for the BBQ and entertainment but donations will be accepted for the Cadets or Community Events.

Community Stream of Dreams Event

Come and take part in a Community Stream of Dreams Event!

All ages are welcome (children must be supervised by an adult).

Learn about your local watershed and then paint a "dream fish" that will be displayed on a fence at Zwick's park.

Quinte Conservation is trained and licensed to deliver this copyrighted watershed education 'science to art' program. Stream of Dreams was started in 2000 in British Columbia by Louise Towell and Joan Carne. They educated children about their local creek, Byrne Creek, that had been seriously degraded. Since that first Stream of Dreams mural was installed there have been over 81,500 participants in three provinces and one USA state.

Summer fun at the Museum invites families to explore Glanmore National Historic Site and play our artifact scavenger hunt game. Freedom Reins is a non-profit program that supports individuals in the community by providing Equine Assisted Growth and Learning sessions.

Kids Summer Sports Camp

The camp is for children aged 8-13 and will run from July 21 until August 22. Camps run on a weekly schedule; Monday to Friday from 9:30am " 2:30pm. During the course of each day children will be provided with lunch and snacks. While at camp children will develop motor skills and learn how to play a variety of sports as well as acquire team building skills and learn the importance of living a healthy active lifestyle. The camp will be held at The Salvation Army Church in Belleville.

To register come to The Salvation Army Church; 290 Bridge Street West, Belleville. Registration will be open from July 10th until July 17th, Monday to Friday from 9:30am " 2:30pm. Registration cost is $10 for the week.
