Three New Summer Shows at the John M. Parrott Art Gallery

Join us at the John M. Parrott Art Gallery for the opening of two new shows on Thursday, June 4th from 6 - 7:30 p.m. In Gallery 1 we are thrilled to exhibit the work of Claudia Jean McCabe, CSA, and her Open Studio students in a show titled “ConFABulation” (of the imagination). And in Gallery Two we welcome the member artists of the Surface Design Association in their exhibition “Edge of the Forest”. Both shows run from June 4th to July 9th.

"Scenes Through My Eyes" is Poul Thrane's retrospective exhibition, in Gallery 3, at the John M. Parrott Art Gallery from June 4th to July 9th. Poul has been instrumental in instilling a love for plein air painting in the hearts of many of our local painters. Please join us on Saturday, June 6 from 2-4 to open this retrospective show and to celebrate a life well painted!

CANADA DAY AT ZWICK'S PARK

One of the largest attended single-day events in Belleville, our annual CANADA DAY celebration at Zwick's Park has an assortment of exciting and free activities for all ages including:

- Quinte Broadcasting Main Stage

- Starboard Communications Family Stage

- General Events including: Wacky Water Slide; 10 new Bouncies, Hair Chalk Colouring, Beach Volleyball, Pony Rides and more...

- Fireworks Finale under the stars at dusk!

The activities get underway at 11:00am, with Opening Ceremonies commencing at 12 noon. At 12:15, RCAF will do a fly-past over Zwick's Park to salute Canada on our 148th birthday (subject to change at the discretion of the Department of National Defence - DND). Activities and performances last the entire day up to the Fireworks Display at Dusk for all to enjoy.

Detour on the Road to the Front written by Thomas Rittwage

It is 1916 and trains roll eastward filled with young men heading to Europe to fight the Kaiser. During an unscheduled stop outside of Brighton, a young soldier recalls wondrous stories of the town, which are brought to life by the townspeople and songs of the era.

All Canadian Wine Championships - Passport to Canada wine tasting

This year marks 30 years for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation and we want to celebrate in County style!

As part of our 30th anniversary celebrations, the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation is thrilled to partner with the Rotary Club of Picton to host the All Canadian Wine Championships “Passport to Canada” tasting event.

This event, new to the County is being presented by The All Canadian Wine Championships and will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2015, 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Crystal Palace at the Picton fairgrounds.
