UPDATED: High risk take down in Brighton

UPDATE @ 3:00 p.m.:

OPP in Brighton have released an update on this morning’s incident, where a man reportedly barged into a home, carrying what appeared to be a hand gun.

Northumberland OPP responded to the call in the town’s south end and the Emergency Response Team was able to locate and arrest the suspect nearby.

Area schools were placed in hold and secure and a stop train order was put in effect during the investigation, but both measures were lifted earlier today.

A K-9 unit swept the area for evidence as well and the investigation is ongoing.

Police say nobody was injured and no suspect description or details on charges were released.

Investigators say more information will come out at the appropriate time.

Social media reports indicate a man broke into a home on Butler Street, and threatened a woman with a gun

He is alleged to have wanted her vehicle.

Northumberland OPP set up a perimeter and arrested the suspect.

No other details are known at this time.
