William “Tony” Rivers passed away Friday, May 30th in his 85th year. He is predeceased by his infant children Patrick & Stephanie, his wonderful wife Sheila (nee Smith) & 7 brothers & sisters; Rita, Joseph (Joe), Roy, Nora, Michael (Mike), Gerald (Jerry) & Margaret (Margie). He is survived by his brother-in-law John Pierce and sister-in-law Ann Rivers (nee Callaghan) and a wealth of other family granted through his brothers & sisters lines. His favorites know who they are.
For himself he was blessed with 4 other children: William (Karin nee Eastwood), Brett (Jennifer nee Veniot), Jeanine (William Newman) & Christina (David Rorabeck). 11 Grandchildren graced his life and filled it with wonder: Morgan (Daniel Emerson), Eric, Hannah, Brendan (Bill’s children), Parker, Abigail (Brett’s children), Daelyn (Peter Sarabura), Connor (Jeanine’s children) Zoë Austin & Logan (Christina’s children). He was lucky enough to also welcome 3 great grandchildren: Maeve, Willa & Audrey (Morgan’s children).
His laughter and hopefully his legendary luck will continue to be remembered and shared through them with all their loved ones, friends and partners now & into the future.
He was loved. It had to be more than just his luck. Although that most certainly helped. He will be missed.
Visitation will be held at the Burke Funeral Home (613-968-6968), 150 Church Street, Belleville on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Read on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
Interment to follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery.
