Obituary for Susan Elizabeth White
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Elizabeth White, age 82, who left us peacefully on April 6th, 2025, at her home in Sutton, Ontario, surrounded by her loving family.
Sue was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose compassion, strength, and generosity touched countless lives. She was the beloved wife of Les White, with whom she shared 59 years of loving marriage. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, partnership, and respect.
A proud Registered Nurse and military spouse, Sue built a meaningful and far-reaching career serving communities across Canada. After graduating from Ottawa Civic Hospital’s Nursing Program, she practiced nursing for 20 years before going on to serve as Vice President at Quinte Health Care, manager of Brighton Family Health, and Chair of both the South Eastern Ontario District Health Council and The Stroke Network of South Eastern Ontario. Sue brought passion, dedication, and a deep sense of care to every role she held. No matter the position, Sue was always guided by her commitment to helping others.
Sue was also deeply devoted to her community. As one of the first women in Canada to serve as President of a Rotary Club, she helped pave the way for others through her determination and belief in service above self. Sue’s remarkable contributions to her community and the healthcare field will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Sue is survived by her brothers, Tom (Gayle) and Bill (Dale) McKay; her husband, Les; her son, David; her daughter, Kathryn Torres (Ed); and her grandchildren, Alex (Maria) and Mitchell (Kate) Torres. She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and many friends.
In keeping with Sue’s wishes, there will be no service. For those wishing to express their condolences, the family invites you to visit WC Town Funeral Home’s website.
Sue will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the love she shared.
