BUSKARD, Ronald Benjamin (Belleville Bulls Supporter and Nortel Retiree)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron on March 8th, 2026, in his 96th year. He was born in Belleville and spent his entire life here. Ron was the son of Walter (Rube) and Elda Buskard. Treasured husband and dancing partner of the late Sylvia for 71 years. Proud father of Linda, Kathy Simpson (Brian), and Steve (Paula). Dear Grandpa of Brad (Jen), Christopher (Hannah) Simpson and Shane (Jeanette), Jordon (Kate) and Corey (Brianna) Buskard. Predeceased by grandson David Simpson. Ron loved his great-grandchildren Maya, Carter, Layla, Ella and Alexander Simpson and Lincoln, Leonie, Brooks, Banks, and Henry Buskard. Ron was a member of St. Columba Church. He devoted much of his retirement years volunteering for many local organizations including Glanmore, Kiwanis Terrific Kids, Gleaners Food Bank and Salvation Army Christmas Kettles.
A Celebration of Life service for Ronald and his beloved wife Sylvia, will be held at Steele Funeral Home, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville on Monday, March 30th, 2026 at 11:15 a.m. Prince Edward District Masonic Brethren are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Worshipful Brother Buskard which will be held prior at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gleaners Food Bank or the Salvation Army.
