WORTMAN, Robert “Bob” (Oct 5, 1943 – April 6, 2026)
It is always difficult to say goodbye to those we love. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Kenneth Wortman of Belleville Ontario, who left us suddenly on Monday April 6th, 2026, at the age of 82.
Bob is predeceased by his parents Ken and Hazel Wortman of Moncton, New Brunswick; and his sister, Linda Johnston (George) of Missouri. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Suzanne Wortman; his children Barb Angus (Jeff), David Wortman, and Shane Williams (Emilyn); and grandchildren, Zoey, Cooper, Rebekah, and Leah. He will be deeply missed by his dog, Sox, extended family, and many friends.
Bob was Born in Moncton New Brunswick, eventually relocating to Ontario. He settled in the Belleville Area, where he retired from Belleville General Hospital as the Director of Dietary Services. Later, spending many years as Manager at the Belleville Curling Club.
His love for the Maritimes (especially Peggy’s Cove) and the sport of curling, will be fondly remembered. His dedication to his loving family and 4 grandkids will be forever cherished. And his strength, courage, and kindness will live on in our hearts forever.
To honor his memory, family and friends are invited to gather at Burkes Funeral Home, 150 Church Street, Belleville on Sunday April 19, 2026, anytime between 1-4 pm. In keeping with Bobs wishes, a cremation has already taken place.
