BARLAS, Robert Andrew (6 December 1942 – 30 March 2025)
Bob was born in London, England but immigrated to Canada in 1962. He met and married Nancy in 1965 and was looking forward to his 60th anniversary. He was a secondary school teacher and divided his time between teaching overseas (New Zealand, Singapore, China and Sri Lanka) and in Canada at Campbellford until 1995. He then started his second career, joining Search Associates and helping Canadian teachers find short postings abroad. He is survived by his brothers, Christopher and Gavin and by his wife Nancy, and son, Richard (wife Angela and children Andrew and Leah), and daughter, Sharine and sons Liam and Rowan. He will be sadly missed by both family and friends. A Celebration of Life for Robert will be held at the Steele Family Centre, 20 Moira Street West, Belleville, on Monday, April 21st, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Robert may be made to Parkinson Canada.
