Collin, Rita (née Smith)… passed away peacefully at Owen Hill Community Care in Barrie on March 14, 2026 at the age of 106 years. Born on February 9, 1920, Rita lived a long and meaningful life.
Beloved wife of the late Edgar Collin. Loving mother to Joan (Agner), Gary (Julie), Mark (Margaret), and Carmen. Cherished grandmother of six grandchildren and proudly remembered by her fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Rita was deeply proud of her career as a nurse and dedicated many years to caring for others. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was actively involved in the Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s League, where she formed many lasting friendships and contributed greatly to her parish community.
Friends and family are invited to join at Weaver Family Funeral Home,77 Second St. Campbellford, on March 23 for visitation from 10:00 – 10:45. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Campbellford, followed by a reception back at Weaver Family Funeral Home after the church service.
