With the greatest strength, courage, and the unwavering support of her family, Renee fought a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer and passed away peacefully at her home on Friday September 18th, 2026 at the age of 48 years. Renee was a bright light who radiated happiness, positivity, and love wherever she went. She had a way of making everyone around her feel special, and was truly the best mother, wife, daughter, and friend anyone could have asked for. Her greatest joy was being the immensely proud mother of Rylee, who was her world and best friend. Renee was the best friend and loving wife of Chuck Gaunt. Beloved daughter of Paul & Roxanne Martin, she was predeceased by her brother Jamie Martin. She will be sadly missed by her parents-in-law Ed & Donna Gaunt, her sister-in-law Becky Gaunt and her niece Raelyn Sweanor. Renee’s light, love, and positivity will live on in everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Renee’s life will be held at the Elk’s Lodge, 18092 Telephone Rd., Trenton on Friday October 16th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. If desired, memorial donations to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation – Gynaecology Oncology Division or the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation – Chemotherapy Unit would be appreciated by the family.
