Mooney, Moira “Mary” (née Meenagh)
Peacefully passed away at the Campbellford Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 25th, 2026 at the age of 83 years.
Moira was the beloved wife of Joseph Mooney and a devoted and loving mother to Mark and Paul (Robin). She was a cherished grandmother who took great pride and joy in her grandchildren; Sarah, Adam, and James, holding each of them close to her heart.
Moira will be fondly remembered by her siblings; Pauline, Anne, Elizabeth, Josephine, and John, sister-in-law to Jim Mooney. Moira is predeceased by her sisters Patricia “Pat” and Christine.
A longtime resident of the Warkworth area, Moira was deeply connected to her community. She generously dedicated much of her time volunteering with The Bridge Hospice, where her kindness, compassion, and quiet strength brought comfort to many. Moira enjoyed being involved in local community events and especially looked forward to supporting the town’s Lilac Festival, a time she truly cherished.
Moira will be remembered for her caring nature, her dedication to helping others, and the love she shared with her family and community. Moira will be missed by many friends, and felt blessed for her time with Dilys Roberston, Cathy and Bob Henderson, Sharon Day and “the girls” plus so many more.
Donations to The Bridge Hospice, Warkworth in Moira’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
