MICHELLE ROSE MARIE HAYWOOD (nee GIRARD) After an all too short battle against cancer, beloved wife, mother, sister, and Grandma, Michelle Haywood passed away in Quinte Hospice on 14 June, 2025 at the age of 65. She leaves to mourn her beloved husband Alan, her sons David and Michael (Stephanie), her sisters Brigitte (Ron) and Samaira (Dwight), and her grandchildren Abigail and Rebecca. She is predeceased by her Dad Joseph Edward Emile Girard, her mother Merdina Girard (nee Isbister), and her sister Rochelle Torres (nee Marsolais). Michelle was beloved by both family and friends for her love of life and how she made the most out of every moment. She and ‘her handsome’ travelled as much of the world as time would allow from an African safari, lounging on Caribbean beaches, boating through the canals of England and Wales, and many other adventures. She was an avid golfer who made friends with everyone she played as she always brought her wonderful sense of humour to each game. Many of her golf buddies and friends at the Trenton Officer’s and other military establishments her and Alan were members will remember her excellent baking and other goodies; none of her Mess friends went without a cake on their birthday. Overall, Michelle was inspiration to others to embrace life and enjoy everything it has to offer, she will be missed by all who knew her. Her family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Quinte Health Trenton Memorial, Kingston General, Belleville General Hospitals, and Quinte Hospice for their care and compassion during Michelle’s struggles. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Weaver Family Funeral Home (Trenton), 29 Bay Street, Trenton on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 12-2 pm followed by funeral service at 2 pm. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers please donate to these establishments or her favourite charity SickKids Canada.
