It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Mary Jane Thomson Nee McLaughlin, on Monday, April 27th at the age of 74, she went home to be with the Lord. Loved and remembered by her husband Alvin, her children Sharon (Peter) Johansen, Shannon (Frank) Agostino, Lucan and Joshua Watters. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Ruth McLaughlin and brother Robert McLaughlin. Survived by her siblings Dianne (Dave), Glenn, Nancy (Mike), sisters-in-law, Shirley (Jack), Elaine, Carol and predeceased by brother-in-law’s; Bruce and Jack Thomson. Devotedly remembered and adored by her beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she was so very proud of and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Jane was a vivacious creative soul with a flair for life. Her contagious laughter and wit captured the affection of many. A favored past time of hers included creative writing and story telling which she excelled at. Her memoirs and poetry all publish worthy are held close by her family and friends at this difficult time. The Matriarch of her family, Mary Jane devoted her love far and wide often extending her table for all to join. She will forever be loved and in our hearts.
If desired, memorial contributions can be made to the Campbellford Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated on behalf of the family. In keeping with Mary Jane’s wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 8th, 2026 at the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Campbellford, ON from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.
