Marilyn Hurst (nee Fisher)
Feb 4, 1934 – Aug 31, 2026
Marilyn passed peacefully Monday Aug 31, 2026. Beloved wife of 70 years to the late Edward (Ted) Hurst. Survived by sister Carol Hall (late Bruce) and predeceased by sister Sheila Dafoe (late Carl). Proud mother of Pamela Shaubel (Jack Kemp) and Judith Haynes (Robert). Predeceased by daughters Karen Mayer (Denis) and Susan Hurst. Proud grandmother to Kyle, Tyler, Trevor, Natasha, Alysha, Samantha, Erika and Nicole. Beloved great grandmother to Donovan, Adrian, Colby, Maddie, Aubrie, Carson, Callie, Chloe, Cole and Sawyer. Marilyn loved to travel whenever possible and always relished an opportunity to go shopping. Whether it was bus trips, long days at Costco, or a good sidewalk sale. Marilyn was a dedicated member of many organizations, including the ANAF Ladies’ Auxiliary, The Northern Telecom Pioneers and the Ladies Sales and Ads Group. Marilyn retired from Bell Canada. Marilyn also loved the trailer that her and Ted had at Brown’s on the Mazinaw for 40 years. The family have organized a Celebration of Life for Marilyn which will be held at The Dugout, 514 Dundas Street East, Belleville, on Sunday, October 4th, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Steele Funeral Home, Belleville.
