Lois Dawn Hoard (nee Tamlin) Passed away peacefully on May 8th, 2026. Daughter of the late Charlie and Cola Tamlin of Woodville, she was predeceased by her husband Robert H Hoard after 60 years of marriage. Sadly, missed by daughters Linda, Heather and son Kenneth and his wife Wendy. Deeply missed by great friend and companion Don Whiteman. Grandchildren: Brandon (Michelle), Eric (Melissa), Lindsay (Steven), Alisha (Shawn), Michael (Haley). Great-grandchildren: Robyn, Blair, Benjamyn, Penelope, Kinsley, Cameron, Hayden. Fondly remembered by sisters and brother Leigh and Phyllis Tamlin of Lindsay, Brenda Tamlin of Hartley, Phyllis Ticco of London, Catherine Simmons of Lindsay. Predeceased by brother and sister-in-law James and Mary Hoard of Stirling, Guito Ticco of London, Bruce Simmons of Cambray and Kenneth Tamlin of Woodville. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Lois was born at home on May 19th, 1933. She was the oldest of five: 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Lois was raised in the Eden Church Community and attended the yearly Eden Cemetery Decoration service to lay flowers and remember her family. Lois went to high school in Lindsay and Teachers College in Peterborough. She taught school in a one-room schoolhouse north of Cambray, and after marrying Robert and moving to Stirling, taught at a one-room schoolhouse north of Frankford. Lois left teaching to raise a family. When she returned to work, she was the Clubhouse Manager at Oak Hills Golf Club. She worked until the Golf Course was sold, and she and Robert retired. Lois enjoyed many winters in Florida with Robert, entertaining family and friends. Lois enjoyed being part of the River Valley and Mount Pleasant communities being active in her church U.C.W., the River Valley Women’s Institute, and attending many events, community dinners, programs and card parties. All with family and friends. Lois enjoyed cooking and feeding the masses either at the Golf Course or at dinners with family and friends. A Big thanks goes out to Barb and all the staff at Stirling Towers Retirement Residence for going above and beyond and for making Stirling Towers her home away from home. Also, our sincere gratitude to the Heart of Hastings Hospice for their care and support in making Mom’s passing peaceful. Lois’s wishes are that donations be made to The Heart of Hastings Hospice, Mount Pleasant Cemetery or Eden Cemetery. Family & Friends are invited to visit at the Weaver Family Funeral Home, Campbellford, 77 Second Street, on Wednesday, May 13th from 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM, and Thursday, May 14th at Mount Pleasant Church at 10:00 AM, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, burial to follow.
