DAFOE, Lawrence Samuel (April 12, 1932 – June 18, 2025)
It is with gratitude for a life well lived and well loved, our family announces the peaceful passing of Lawrence Dafoe, of Belleville, on June 18, 2025 at the age of 93, with family by his side. Lawrence was the 4th of 7 sons born to the late Ross and Norma (nee Lloyd) Dafoe, and was the last remaining brother of Raymond, Maurice, Earl, Carmen, Carl and Allan (Doc). Lawrence was predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Della Marie (nee Meyers 2005). He was much loved by his children, Diane (Derek) Stone of Gananoque and Gary (Jeannie) Dafoe of Belleville. Cherished Grandfather of Alana (Mike) Glover of Amherstview, Kevin Stone of Kingston; Tara (Jaret) Davidson and Michelle (Jeff) Bruinsma, both of Belleville. Loving Great Grandfather to Cayden, Brielle and Crew Glover; Sawyer, Peyton and Grayson Davidson and Isaac and Hendrik Bruinsma. Lawrence leaves behind his sisters-in-law Donna (Carmen) Dafoe and June (Allan) Dafoe, brothers-in-law Mark Shenfield, Alvin Donaldson and many nieces and nephews. Lawrence is fondly remembered by his good friend, Joan Richards. Lawrence was thoroughly devoted to his family and lived his life with a positive outlook and purpose, having a keen sense of humour, a quick wit and was kind to all. He was generous with his time towards family, being quick to lend a hand with many family projects over the years with understanding and support. He will be greatly missed by his family and all of those whose lives he touched. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society in honour of his beloved wife, Della would be appreciated by the family.
