Peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, in his 90th year.
Predeceased by the love of his life Sylvia (Bush). Cherished father to Cindy (Dean) Lough and Debbie (Jeff) Rivers. Loved Grandpa to Drew (Alexandra) Rivers and Connor Rivers. Great Gramps to Jack Rivers. He was predeceased in death by his parents and his brother Doug.
Syd, who retired as an OPP Traffic Sergeant in 1991 was fondly remembered for his dedication and love of his career. In retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodcarving. Syd was an avid reader. A member of the Tweed Kiwanis Club.
Cremation has taken place, and his family appreciates donations to the OFAH Foundation (www.ofahfoundation.org). A casual gathering in honor of Syd’s life will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2025, 2-6 at the Tweed Agricultural building.
