Cramp, Joyce (nee Palla)…It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joyce Marguerite Cramp (nee Palla) on April 14, 2026, in her 98th year. Joyce, or as we all knew her….”Aunt Deed”, was born in Milton Ontario on November 18, 1927, to Mihail Dimitre Palla and Dorothy Mary Palla (nee Smallman). Born just before the great depression, Deed’s childhood was shaped of frugality, resourcefulness, resilience and strong family values that continued to her last day. Deed believed in strong family ties and committed her life to being the glue that adhered us together. Deed often quoted her father ‘Family is everything, keep each other close’. One could often find Deed visiting with family and was always willing to lend valuable advice on how to live a simple life. Deed had many helpful tips and tricks to lend as well as several good jokes. Deed selflessly volunteered her time to knitting, corking and embroidering for charity, as well as finding time to embroider personal pillow cases or hand-knit socks for her family. In her younger years, Deed maintained stunning gardens of flowers and vegetables, and taught many of us how to nurture our own gardens. During her working years, Deed was devoted to a nursing career in Toronto. Her professional talents helped provide loving care to her husband Gerald of 41 years, later in life. Deed was a lover of all creatures great and small, and often donated to animal charities to help in any way she could. Being a lover of reading, Deed had many interesting books on her shelf over the years, but her favourite that remained a constant throughout her life was the Bible.
Predeceased by her husband Gerald Cramp 1920-2004, and siblings; Arthur Mitchell Palla 1921-1962 (wife Jeanne), Mary Elizabeth Kimbell nee. Palla 1923-2018 (husband Leonard), George (Bud) Alexander Palla 1925-2006 (wife Gina), Barbara Ruth McConnell nee. Palla 1930-2025 (husband Ed). Aunt Deed’s laughter and wisdom will be sorely missed by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice, as Deed gave to so many. Respecting her wishes, cremation will take place. Online guest book, memories and condolences may be shared at www.weaverfuneralhomes.com
