Josephine Emma Wetherall
Wetherall, Josephine (Jo) (nee Dempsey) September 9, 1927 – July 15, 2025.
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jo Wetherall who died on July 15th as the result of a tragic accident. Loving wife of the late Arnold Wetherall and mother of Judy Hatfield (Nick), Janet Richardson (Jim), Joanne Mulatz (Jacques), Douglas Wetherall (Jeanette), Jacalyn Quigley (Kim) and David Wetherall.
She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Curtis Richardson, Brad Richardson (Jessica), Jacalyn Robertson (Ryan), Josh Mulatz, Jordan Mulatz (Jill), Julia Blake (Sean), Kerry-Lynn Bruce (Steve), Sara Wetherall (Mitch), Jamie Quigley, Jennifer Quigley (Adam), Maddy Quigley (Jake), Nicholas Wetherall (Charlotte), and Samantha Wetherall (Isaiah). Also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
Jo also leaves behind her sister-in-law Anne Wetherall and her sister-in-law Fay Wetherall along with her nieces and nephews Elaine Neal (George), Gary Wetherall (Judy), Donna Carlisle (Robin), Glenn Wetherall, Ellen DeVries (Gord) and Susan Hennessey (Glen), Jackie Dempsey, Vicki Emery, Terry, Rob & Cindy Wetherall and Anita Wetherall.
Jo was pre-deceased by her mother, Mrytle Dempsey (McInroy), her brother, Douglas and his wife Dorothy, her uncle Edward McInroy and her brothers-in-law Carl, Roy, Bill and Gordon Wetherall.
Jo was a stay-at-home mom for many years and later in life worked at Sears. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and playing cards. She and Arnold attended the Albury United Church for many years and were known by many in the Albury Community. She will be missed by many.
Cremation has taken place and arrangements for a burial service in the early fall has been entrusted to the care of the Steele Funeral Home.
A special thank you to all of those who assisted Josephine on the night of her death, including her wonderful neighbours (especially Robin and family), the Prince Edward County OPP, the Ameliasburgh Fire Department and the Hastings-Prince Edward Ambulance Service.
As per Jo’s request, memorial donations can be directed to the Dr. Douglas McIntosh Cancer Centre at Quinte Health, Belleville General or to the charity of your choice.
