Joanne Zanette
November 2, 1950 – March 30, 2026
It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Joanne Marie Zanette on March 30, 2026 in her 76th year.
Born on November 2, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Joan and Murray McEathron. Joanne was the beloved wife of Battista Zanette, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. For Joanne and Battista, family was their everything, and the life they built together was her greatest pride.
Throughout her life, Joanne held a deep passion for travel and a profound love for Italy and all things Italian. She was well known for her exceptional cooking and her honest, direct nature—someone who truly “said it like it is.” Beyond her family, Joanne placed great importance on her friendships, cultivating loyal bonds that lasted a lifetime.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Battista. She was the loving mother of Donna Zanette (Stephen), Sonia Zanette, and Mike Zanette (Nicole). She was the cherished Nonna of Jenna, Dylan, Natalia, Matteo, and Luca.
Joanne is also survived by her siblings: Bonnie Baker, Heather Orford (Ken), Leslie McEathron, Dave McEathron (Sue), and Richard McEathron. She was predeceased by her brothers Doug McEathron (Jan), Jamie McEathron (Andrea) and her son-in-law Jeff Mau. She will be deeply missed by her family, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held at Burke Funeral Home (613-968-6968), 150 Church Street, Belleville on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, N Park Street, Belleville on April 9, 2026 at 10:30am with a burial following immediately afterwards at St. James Cemetery. Following the burial, a reception will be held in the hall of Holy Rosary Church.
