Jean McGee Seguire passed away peacefully at The Bridge Hospice in Warkworth on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026. Jean was in her 94th year. She was the beloved wife of Bill Seguire and the late Ron McGee. Loving mother of Randy (Cindy) McGee, Rick (Lori) McGee, Rod (the late April) McGee, Janna McGee, Ryan (Erin) McGee and Rob (Julie) McGee. Grandmother of Cary, Cord, Allison, Brian, Cody, the late Francine, Zacharie, Ezekial, Silas, Teaghan, Shealon, Grady, Dane, Olivia and Leah and a great-grandmother of 14. Dear sister of Marion Amy and her late husband Paul of Waterloo, and Juanita Day and her late husband Harold of Trenton. Jean is predeceased by her siblings Ken (the late Shirley) Devitt and John Devitt and his surviving wife Carol. Predeceased by her parents Harold & Mary (nee Lamb) Devitt. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Jean was born in Lindsay on May 22nd, 1932. She grew up in Bobcaygeon and met Ron McGee who was building a Bridge in Bobcaygeon at the time. They soon married on June 19th, 1954 and started their family. They moved around Ontario & Manitoba quite frequently with Ron’s work building bridges and finally settled in Winnipeg. They purchased their family home on Carlyle Crescent where they raised their six children. Later on, they moved to Stonewall where Jean took great pride in the home they had built. Jean worked in the home care field for several years until Ron passed away in 2002, she later met Bill Seguire through friends of the family. Jean and Bill married on July 2nd, 2011, then settling in Warkworth. Jean was active in the church in Warkworth and developed many friendships within the community. Jean spent her final hours surrounded by her family & loved ones. She was loved & respected by Bill’s children; Tom, Mike, John, Jim, Christina and their families. The McGee family would also like to thank the Seguire family for the love and care they have shown our mother.
The family will be inviting family and friends to gather at the Weaver Family Funeral Home (70 Church St. Warkworth) on Monday, April 27th form 5:00PM to 8:00PM for visitation. Jean’s final resting place will take place in Stonewall, Manitoba at Grassmere Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to The Bridge Hospice, Warkworth, ON or the St. Paul’s United Church, Warkworth, ON would be appreciated on behalf of the family.
