With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Jacob Malley, just one day before his 26th birthday. Jacob’s life was tragically cut short in a motorcycle accident while on his way to one of the weekly bike meets he so greatly enjoyed. Though his time with us was far too brief, he lived with kindness, laughter, and a genuine love for the people and passions that filled his life.
The weekend before his passing, Jacob celebrated his birthday doing another of the things he loved most playing paintball with friends from work. Whether riding his motorcycle, spending time with friends, or enjoying the gaming community, Jacob embraced life with enthusiasm and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his caring heart, thoughtful nature, infectious sense of humour, and the joy he brought to those around him.
Jacob will be forever loved and deeply missed by his parents Deborah Hodge and John Malley, his brother, Arjae McLaughlin; his grandmother, Jennifer Hodge; his grandfather, Jim (Art) Malley; his aunt, Caroline Saunders; his uncles, Bob Saunders and Brian Chalklin; his cousin, Nicole Chalklin; and by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends in both Canada and England. He also leaves behind countless friends from the riding and gaming communities.
How can we say goodbye to someone so young who was just finding his way in life? We can’t. Instead we say, until we meet again.
Family and friends are invited to honour Jacob’s life as he arrives at the Steele Funeral Home (30 Moira Street West) following his final ride on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 12:15 p.m. Visitation will be held from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm Funeral Service to follow in the chapel at 1:30 pm.
