Hartnick, Gretchen (nee Ehrenreich )…. passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness at Victoria Manor in Lindsay on January 17, 2026 at the age of 81 years. Beloved wife of the late Edward Hartnick. Loving mother to Shelley (Ryan) of Oakville and Ed (Wendy) of Tory Hill. Cherished grandmother of Hannah, Kyle, Nadia and Keith. Loving sister to Carl (Gail) and Harold (Sandy). Gretchen will be greatly missed by her friends and extended family. Born in Beaufort West, South Africa, she was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Harold and Elizabeth Ehrenreich of Trenton, and formerly of South Africa. She was a resident of Trenton for over 50 years, previously residing in South Africa. She was formerly a teacher and retired long time employee of Crown Ridge Nursing Home, a member of St. George’s Anglican Church, Trenton and a devoted Montreal Canadians fan. Family & Friends are invited to visit at the Weaver Family Funeral Home – Trenton 29 Bay Street, on Thursday January 22nd 2026 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2:15 pm at St George’s Church. A spring interment will take place at St. George’s Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
