Garnet Maines
Peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 8, 2025 in his 86th year.
Garnie will always be loved and missed by his wife Monica (Whalen) Maines; his children Cathy (Doug) Gunning, Steve (Vicki) Maines, Deb (late Wes) Kinsman and Brian Maines (Chrissy Holmes); grandchildren Laurason (Kelly Ann), Brad, Emma (Steve), Luke (Brooke), Logan (Josie), Taylor (Hannah) and Cam; great grandchildren Kennedy, Mackenzie, Henry, Millie, Darla, Jemma and Louie; siblings Helen (late El) Hinze and Grant (Cecilia) Maines; his extended family David (Susan), Brittany, Dustin (Sydney), Graham, Mark (Maureen); sister-in-law Teresa Cassidy; brother-in-law Don Sherrow; and his nieces and nephews Gary, Jean, Donna, Diane (Jim), Shirley (Paul), Karen (late Rick), Connie (Al), Dianne (George), late Dean (Susan), Cindy (Matt), Gloria (Chris) and David (Starla).
Son of the late Mary (Colden) and Willie Maines. Predeceased by his siblings Burt (Ruth) Maines, Mildred (Fred) Preston, Lois (Don) McInroy and Lynn Maines.
Dedicated husband, father, Pa and a lifetime farmer.
Visitation will be held at the Burke Funeral Home, 150 Church Street, Belleville on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will take place at St. John’s United Church, Tweed on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.
Cremation to follow with interment at Bethel Cemetery.
