Carswell, Frederick Allen – of Belleville, entered into rest at his home on Sunday, July 19th, 2026, at the age of 75. Dear son of the late Kemis & Emily Carswell (nee McKenna). Predeceased by his spouse Kathleen Carswell (nee Jones). Loving father of Shannon Pike & partner Dylan Dowds, Diane Carswell & the late Brian Carswell. Dear grandfather of Logan MacLachlan, Ash Pike, Kit Carswell & the late Oli (Deven) Reyes. Fred will be missed by his brother Bill Carswell (& wife Nicola Carswell), and also by his chosen family members; Joan Burton, Janice Burton, Melanie Burton-Vardy & husband Josh Vardy, and Jeffery Bethune. Predeceased by sister Audrey Musclow. Fred volunteered for many years with Links to Learning and was also a foundational member, organized and delivered products from the Good Food Box, and also assisted with his church youth evenings. He loved animals, road trips, playing cards, eating at family-run “hole in the wall” diners, and he loved people. Fred worked for many years at Quaker Oats in Trenton and Stephens-Adamson Manufacturing Company in Belleville. Funeral Service will be held at Steele Funeral Home, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville, on Friday, July 24th, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Belleville Cemetery. If desired, donations in memory of Fred may be made to Links to Learning or the Belleville Seniors Club.
