FORD, Frances Joan
It is with sadness but also appreciation and gratitude for a beautiful life that we announce the death of our mother, mother-in-law, grandma and GG, Frances Joan Ford. Joan ended her journey on earth peacefully surrounded by her family at Hospice Quinte on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Predeceased by her parents Frank Claus and Bessie Anderson, and by her beloved husband Herbert John Ford. Joan is survived by her sister Sandra Claus (Larry Potter), and by her two sons, Stephen (Marion), and Chris (Leslie). She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Mathew (Stephanie), Kierra (Brad Pelz), Kurt (Kaitlyn), Mitch (Emma), Dallas (Alex), and Stevie (Kitty), and her great-grandchildren Seamus, Charlotte, Beckett, Sophie and Alder. She will be forever missed by her nieces and nephews, their families and by many dear friends. To know Joan was to know kindness, compassion, commitment and of course grace. Visitation will be held at Steele Funeral Home, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville on Wednesday June 18th, 2025 from 2-5pm. Visitation will also be held in the evening at All Saints Church, 1295 Ridge Road, Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025 from 7-8:30 pm. A Requiem Mass will take place at Christ Church Anglican, 39 Everett Street, Belleville on Thursday, June 19th, 2025, at 11:00 am. Cremation has already taken place. Due to allergies, in lieu of flowers a donation to Hospice Quinte would be appreciated.
