It is with heavy hearts that the family of Florence (Pie) Amelia Savard announce her passing on Monday, July 13, 2026. She passed away peacefully with family by her side at the John M. Parrott Centre in Napanee, Ontario.
Born in Massey, Ontario on May 12, 1945, she was the son of the late Ivan Raoul Savard and Amanda May Savard (Gignac).
She is survived by her five children, Richard Plourde of Edmonton Alberta, John Plourde of Fort Erie Ontario, Roger Plourde of Toronto Ontario, Nancy Weinrauch of Edmonton Alberta and Sheldon Savard (Joyce) of Belleville Ontario.
She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Roy and Patrick Savard, Devon Savard and April Plourde.
Besides her parents, Pie is predeceased by her husband Sheldon Francis Gillis. She is also predeceased by her many brothers and sisters and her granddaughter Samantha Bell (in infancy).
She lived a quiet life and found happiness in the simple things. She looked forward to feeding the birds, chipmunks, and squirrels that gathered outside, taking delight in watching them return day after day. She had a special love for animals and cherished the family dog (Ollie) and cats (Layla and Bella) who held a special place in her heart. Her gentle spirit and appreciation for life’s small joys will be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
Many thanks to the John M Parrott Centre for the phenomenal care Pie received while there. Bella, Rhonda, Jarreth, Dr. Robichaud and all the other amazing staff, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the genuine, professional and thorough care you provided for Pie during her stay.
If desired, a donation towards the John M Parrott Centre of Napanee, Ontario may be made in Florence (Pie) Savard’s memory.
