Edward Albert “Ted” Clapp – passed away peacefully at Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Long-Term Care Home in Napanee on Tuesday, July 7th, 2026, at the age of 83.
Ted will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Eleanor Rintoul (Laurie) of Carleton Place and Beverley Heagle (late Paul) of Belleville, as well as his ex-wife and best friend of over 30 years Michelle Clapp. He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Predeceased by his parents Everett and Florence Clapp and his brother Donald Clapp (late Elsie) and brother-in-law Frank Paul.
Ted was a man who truly appreciated the outdoors and found great joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. Throughout his life he wore many hats, working as an automotive, mechanic, a real estate broker in British Columbia but his favourite career was when he owned and operated a motel in the Yukon where he was able to hunt and fish as often as he could.
Ted will be remembered for his independent spirit, his love of the outdoors, and the many stories gathered throughout a life well lived. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Visitation will be held at Eastminster United Church, 432 Bridge Street East, Belleville on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service celebrating Ted’s Life at 12 p.m.
