Dirk de Boer
1927 – 2025
Dirk left this world with dignity, on his own terms, at Belleville General Hospital on June 26, 2025 in his 98th year to join his soulmate of 72 years, Willy.
Beloved husband, father, Opa, and Great Opa, he will live on in the hearts and minds of his children, Judy, Dirk (Janice), Lisa (Kevin), grandchildren Tyler, Lindsey, Dirk, Ben, Brittany, Matthew, eleven great-grandchildren, three nieces, six nephews, and cousin Tineke (Pieter Jan).
Retired mechanical engineer, Nortel Networks with 34 years service, Dirk was an avid sailor and boat builder, Past Commodore of the Bay of Quinte Yacht Club, member of the Quinte Model Shipwrights, and Masonic Temple, Belleville.
Celebration of a life well lived will be held at the Burke Funeral Home, 150 Church Street, Belleville on Wednesday, July 2, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception. Visitation is at 10:00 am.
Donations to the Belleville General Hospital would be appreciated.
Dirk’s family wish to give special thanks to paramedics, Dr. Cassidy, Dr. Ademidon, Dr. Morin, and staff at Belleville General Hospital for their care and compassion.
