Seymour, Daniel. Passed away at Hospice Quinte in Belleville on April 22, 2026 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Sadie Seymour for 60 wonderful years. Devoted father to Dale, Keith and Carol (Hayley). Cherished grandfather of Eden and Dylan-Rose. Loving brother to Phyllis (Barry), Judy (Danny) and Paul (Carol). Dan will be greatly missed by his sister-in-law Judy (Mike) and his many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his closest friends the Lakes and the Levesques. Dan is predeceased by his parents Ernest and Marion Seymour and step-mother Ida Seymour.
Dan was born in Exploits and spent the first half of his life in Newfoundland and Labrador before moving to Ontario. Dan was a people person in all areas of his life. From his work in hospitals, transitional housing for youth and mediation in the public and private sectors, Dan’s caring and compassionate nature was always evident. Through his commitment to the Salvation Army, as both a member of various corps committees and with Family Services in Port Hope, Dan’s dedication to supporting his church and community were clear. Dan’s love of people also extended to his social activities including camping with friends and family, berry picking, working the Christmas kettles and yard saling. Dan’s quick wit, sharp mind and memory for history and stories were shared with anyone who would listen. In his later years, he loved spending time with his grandchildren or grand-cats watching the Blue Jays or Jeopardy. Dan had a notorious sweet tooth and never said no to an ice cream!
Family & Friends are invited to visit at the Salvation Army Church 290 Bridge Street, Belleville, on Wednesday April 29th from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
