SHARPE, Barbara
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Sharpe who left us peacefully on Nov 4th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones after a short but courageous battle. Barb will be greatly missed by daughters Cheryl Mieske and Diane Stewart, sons-in-law Lyle and Rick, grandchildren Scott (Nicole), Trista (Bruce) and great grandchildren Ryder, Tatum, Wilder and twins Love and Cain.
Barb led a full and meaningful life. Married for nearly three decades to Merv Sharpe, she created a home filled with laughter, music, and love until Merv’s passing in 1999. Years later, Barb was fortunate to find love again with Jim Brennen, with whom she shared many happy moments until his passing five years ago.
Barb remained active and independent right up until her recent illness — she loved shopping, dining out, and cheering on her beloved Toronto Blue Jays. Barb’s kindness, strength, and joyful spirit touched everyone she met. She will be remembered not only for her love of family, but for the warmth and laughter she brought to every gathering.
Please join us in a celebration of Barb’s life which will be held at Steele Funeral Home, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville, on Thursday, Nov 13th, at 11 a.m. (with a visitation one hour prior to service). Family and friends are invited to share memories and stories in her honour. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barb’s memory may be made to Eastminister United Church.
