Allan William “Nish” Copperthwaite
1939-2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allan, peacefully at Campbellford Memorial Hospital in his 86th year on January 25, 2025. Dearly loved husband of Patsy (nee Bausch) for nearly 65 years. Beloved son of the late Harold & Jean Copperthwaite. Devoted and loving father of Allison Ferrill and Paul Copperthwaite. Oldest of four boys, brother to the late Bob “Diesel”, Ted and Donnie “Ducky” who all retained that mischievous sense of humour. Special Poppa of Lee Ferrill (Amy), Angie Mansbridge (Aaron), Paige and Tai Copperthwaite. Great grandfather of 4 beautiful children Lillian, Callan, Arlo and Ace whom he adored. Allan was the manager of the Campbellford Arena for a number of years and took great pride in the skill of ice making. His love of hockey and the Maple Leafs was immeasurable, this passion has transcended through multiple generations of our family. Go Leafs Go! In his later years he took up the game of golf and enjoyed playing countless rounds with his son and grandson. Allan had a special place in his heart for his beloved pets, especially Bree. His love of horses was unmatched, he was a horseman first and foremost. He owned, trained and drove a number of Standardbreds and over the years developed a camaraderie with his fellow competitors. His devotion to his family was unmatched, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandson Lee who was very special to him. We are planning a celebration of life in the near future for both Allan and his brother Donnie “Ducky”, who passed away on December 22. We are very grateful for the care Allan received from the staff and Dr.Parks at Campbellford Hospital, thank you all. Cremation has taken place.
