Lucette Alexina Engels
Passed away at Hastings Manor with family by her side on Saturday, July 26, 2026 in her 95th year.
Loving wife of the late Jan Engels
Lucette will always be loved and missed by her children Christine Knaack (Brian) and Dinie Engels (Geoff), grandchildren Nicholas Engels (Nicole) and Oliver Maina. She was the last surviving sibling of the Marchessault family: Renee LaFrance, Diane Latremouille, Claude Marchessault, and Gilles Marchessault.
Predeceased by her parents Antonin Marchessault and Gabrielle (Roy)
She loved all types of crafting including knitting and card design. She read La Presse daily to preserve her French-Canadian roots, and enjoyed crosswords and puzzles. Maintaining family connection was paramount even in her final years, with nightly bedtime texts and weekly in person visits and FaceTime calls with those more distant.
A private internment of ashes will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingston at a later date.
